PRESENTATION

Altarpiece of the church of Plancher-Bas

The church at Plancher-Bas dates from 1488 and is dedicated to Saint-Pancrace. (known in English as Saint-Pancras). The building was destroyed by a violent fire in 1771. The nave and the bell tower were quickly rebuilt the following year.

Inside there are two altarpieces dating the 18th century, one representing the Virgin of the Rosary and the other representing the martyr of Saint-Pancrace.

There are also two wooden statues from the 18th century, representing Saint-Guérin and Saint Joachim.
